Dear supporter, Good morning! Despite receiving more than three thousand e-mails, none of the leaders of the three largest parties have responded to our petition. So, starting this week we're going to begin sending targeted messages to each leader and see if any of them are prepared to take a stand in support of fair debates. But we need your help! This week, we start with Andrea Horwath, leader of the Ontario New Democrats. The NDP supports proportional representation, a fair voting system that gives voters exactly what they ask for. That means that in the last election when the Green Party earned 5% of the vote, they would receive 5% of the seats! With that in mind, we're hoping that Andrea will support our call for fair and inclusive debates. Elections Ontario is already using a proportional threshold to determine which parties get an annual per-vote funding subsidy. We’re simply proposing that the TV networks use the same thresholds for inclusion! This is the NDP's chance to show that they truly support fair election results.
