Progress is still being made!

The Town of Whitby council unanimously passed the motion last month urging the province to require a Safe-Arrival program for provincially licensed childcare providers.

The motion was then brought to the Region of Durham. Again, the motion passed unanimously.

The town of Whitby and the Durham region councillors are requesting the Province of Ontario to require a Safe-Arrival Policy be developed and implemented by provincially licensed childcare providers to enhance the safety of all children enrolled in their programs by reporting unexplained child absences in a timely manner to parents, guardians, or caregivers.

The motion has been sent to Premier Ford, the Minister of Education and all Durham MPPs.

Big thank you to Maleeha and the council of Whitby for helping bring this motion forward. She believes in the need for change and is helping be our voice and lead  us forward.

You can help too! Bring the motion to your council. Vocalize your support by sending an email or making a call to your MPP. Change can be made.

Thank you!
