One Family. One Home. One Last Chance. Help my elderly parents stay.
The Issue
I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for support for my parents.
In 2004, my parents purchased a home in Waipahu, Hawaiʻi, where our family has built more than 20 years of memories. It is more than just a house. It is where they built their lives, raised their family, and created a place we have always called home.
In 2019, my father, a disabled United States veteran and the sole provider for my mother and younger brother, underwent bypass surgery. Tragically, complications from the surgery left him bedridden and dependent on around-the-clock care.
The man who had worked tirelessly to provide for his family could no longer work. With the loss of his income, my parents began facing overwhelming financial hardship, making it increasingly difficult to keep up with their mortgage payments.
In 2020, while our family was already struggling and foreclosure proceedings were beginning, my mother suffered multiple minor strokes. With both of my parents facing serious medical challenges, our family was left trying to manage their care while desperately fighting to preserve the home they had worked so hard to keep.
Now, after more than two decades in the home where they built their lives, my parents are facing eviction.
My father cannot simply pack his belongings and move. His condition makes relocation extremely difficult, and his VA medical team has expressed serious concerns about the health risks involved.
As their daughter, it is heartbreaking to watch my parents face losing their home after everything they have endured.
We are respectfully asking the bank and current property owner to temporarily postpone the eviction and give our family a fair opportunity to negotiate a solution that would allow my parents to remain in their home.
We understand the seriousness of the foreclosure, and we are not asking for it to be ignored. We are simply asking for compassion, consideration, and one more opportunity to find a way forward.
My parents have already lost so much of the life they once knew. I am doing everything I can to make sure they do not lose the comfort and familiarity of their home as well.
If you believe our family deserves that opportunity, please consider signing and sharing this petition.
Every signature represents someone willing to stand with a local Hawaiʻi family during an incredibly difficult time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
Mahalo nui loa. ❤️
