A Year Later: Why I Rewrote One Earth, One Humanity
When I launched this petition more than a year ago, I hoped it would spark a conversation about humanity's shared future.
It didn't.
Only a small number of people signed.
At first, I saw that as a disappointment. But over time, I realised something important. Perhaps people weren't rejecting the idea. Perhaps I simply hadn't explained it well enough.
That realisation led me to write One Earth, One Humanity.
When the first edition was published, I shared it widely—with newspapers, public figures, organisations and leaders around the world. Once again, the response was limited. Some people criticised the title without reading the book, assuming it called for a borderless world or a single global government.
That experience taught me another lesson. The conversation needed to begin differently. So over the past year, I completely rewrote the book from the ground up.
The newly published Second Edition does not argue against nations, cultures or identities. It asks a much simpler question: Can humanity learn to cooperate more effectively while preserving the diversity that makes us who we are?
In an age of climate change, war, pandemics, artificial intelligence and growing global interdependence, this question seems more important than ever. Whether you agree with my conclusions or strongly disagree, I hope you'll consider the question.
Because every great change in history began with people willing to ask questions that once seemed impossible.
