Simply provided funding for DHHS and the town of Huntersville to do testing. Medical professional are the ones determining which test to perform. The town is simply administering payments of the grants to the medical professionals. Know the research work here is close to finished. If you want specific or additional tests performed which you think may be germane to our community you will need to speak to the medical team doing the research. Hence, I doubt they (perhaps not all of them) would rather NOT test for Wolbachia (and treat these people with antibiotics that could cure them). I suppose I was temporarily "accepted" into that group just so she would spend hours deriding me because I am not an MD and I do not hold a PhD. I had no idea that MDs and those with PhDs were always right. Gee, when I worked in ophthalmology, there were a couple of times that a general ophthalmologist (like yourself) missed something that I caught. So here's what makes no sense: It's a simple blood test. I'm not asking for you to dig up soil samples from some nuclear waste site. A simple blood test: a broad range PCR screen for infection by Rickettsiales. Eventually, other ocular oncologists and ophthalmologists WILL test for this and YOUR patients will have legal recourse since biopsy samples must be kept for (at least) five years. Shame on you, R. Webster But, Dr. Brennan's last email to me was: "Unless I’m really aging fast, Have no knowledge of Elizabeth Cross me off your mailing list please---" Bottom Line: I hate to tell you all this, but doctors (in this case) do NOT have your best interests at heart (imo). You will need to obtain a court order to obtain ALL the testing you deserve. I am a Canadian citizen and I cannot lawyer up for you. You will need to start seeking legal counsel (if you wish to find out definitely if Wolbachia is indeed the root cause of your uveal melanoma - and subsequent metastasis to the liver).
