It's pretty obvious Team USA has become an international fashion embarrassment. The 2024 Olympic Team's uniform, a blazer and jeans, (again), by Ralph Lauren (again) is uninspired and uninspiring. Ralph Lauren has designed the Olympic uniforms for Team USA since 2008. He's 84 years old, an age at which some other prominent Americans have stepped aside to allow new talent to enter the race. Not to diminish his contribution to American fashion, but it is time to pass the baton. 

Team USA, and all of us, deserve a fashion forward and inspiring Olympic uniform. And thankfully, there is no shortage of talented American designers to take on this task: Christian Siriano, Maria Pinto, Thakoon, Tracy Reese, Jonathan Simkhai, Doo-Ri Chung, Byron Lars (just to name a few).

For the 2026 Winter Games, Ralph Lauren should pass the Olympic fashion torch.
