Update Oklahoma's Rape Statutes

Update Oklahoma's Rape Statutes
The Issue
Once again, Oklahoma is a national embarrassment when it comes to protecting victims of rape.
The Oklahoma Criminal Appeals Court recently ruled that an unconscious victim cannot be orally raped. This decision has sparked outrage and national ridicule, highlighting a massive hole in Oklahoma’s sexual assault laws.
The law should be clear: without consent, it’s rape.
Oklahoma ranks among the worst states in the country for sexual violence and the worst for prosecuting rapists.
Many states have taken action to add direct language addressing consent. It is time to reform Oklahoma’s antiquated laws to clarify consent and protect victims.
We must stand together against institutionalized victim-blaming and legal loopholes that allow rapists to walk free.
WE DEMAND THAT OKLAHOMA LAWMAKERS REFORM RAPE STATUTES.
Stand with us against Sexual Violence.
No More Silence. No More Shame.
Yes All Daughters began in the fall of 2014. We led a protest after multiple teenage girls in our hometown of Norman, OK were raped by the same classmate and then bullied out of their school. Since that time, we’ve worked tirelessly to address the issue of sexual violence through education and legislation.
