Dermot Nolan, Top Dog at OFGEM, has responded.

Dermot Nolan, the OFGEM boss, has said on email to me that he will look into National Grid and whether they are making excessive profits.
He says he takes "these matters very seriously" and "will respond to the questions in a considered fashion in due course." You may be assured he says that "I really do put the interests of current and future energy consumers first. "
Thanks for supporting the petition so far. The more people who sign the more seriously OFGEM will need to take it.
We also got some great press coverage over the week end in the Express ( http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/675217/National-Grid-accused-RIPPING-OFF-customers-revealing-yearly-profits ) & Mirror ( http://www.mirror.co.uk/money/national-grid-rip-off-storm-8088029 )
One it would seem present or former National Grid employee on the Mirror website has commented:
"They will stop at nothing to keep shareholders happy. This year they are plotting to sell off their gas distribution networks. They have previously lied and deceived their employees by telling them they had secure futures . They have steadily cut pay and terms and conditions of employment and now they seek to sell them off so that a foreign company or pension fund will own the UK gas distribution networks, valuable British assets flogged off for foreign profit and hard pressed workers betrayed.
Never mind though,, Steve Holliday the outgoing CEO is doing just fine with his shareholding of over 2,600,000 shares valued at more than £23m, and then there is his fat salary..and yet he expects his staff to flog their tripes out for less and less."
Strong stuff.
Cheers,
Mark
