OFFICIALLY RECOGNISE ROB MCELHENNEY AS A CO-OWNER OF WREXHAM AFC

The Issue

To: The Global Media, Wrexham Fans, and Anyone Who’s Ever Mistaken Rob for Ryan’s Assistant

We, the undersigned, demand immediate and urgent recognition of Rob McElhenney as an actual, real-life co-owner of Wrexham AFC. For too long, this hardworking, tax-paying, club-investing man has been unjustly cropped out of photos, ignored in headlines, and treated like Ryan Reynolds’ unpaid intern.

It is an undeniable fact that in 2021, Rob McElhenney approached Ryan Reynolds with the idea to buy Wrexham. That’s right, Rob had the idea first. And yet, three years later, every major news outlet (looking at you, Bloomberg) has chosen to refer to Wrexham as ‘Ryan Reynolds’ Club’ while treating Rob like a vaguely familiar stadium groundskeeper.

OUR DEMANDS:
Media Outlets Must Say Rob’s Name At Least Once Per Article. Preferably without adding, “co-owner with Ryan Reynolds” in parentheses like he’s some kind of legal footnote.

A Life-Size Statue of Rob Outside the Racecourse Ground. It can stand next to Ryan’s, but Rob’s must be at least an inch taller for balance.
An Official Wrexham Jersey With “NOT RYAN REYNOLDS” on the Back. Rob deserves his own merch.

Welcome to Wrexham: The McElhenney Cut. A documentary series that finally gives Rob more screen time than a blurry background extra.
A Public Apology from Ryan Reynolds. Preferably in skywriting over Wrexham, or at the very least, a heartfelt TikTok with tears.
Rob McElhenney may not have Deadpool’s abs or a billion-dollar gin company, but he does have half-ownership of Wrexham, and that should count for something.

Sign below to ensure history finally acknowledges that Rob McElhenney exists.
