Bonfire Night is Thursday – join this action to protect our pets

Bonfire Night is this Thursday, and for millions of dogs, cats, horses and wildlife, it’s one of the most frightening nights of the year. Here's what you can do right now to prepare.

First, some positive updates. This October, the Government wrapped its public consultation on fireworks! Thanks to more than 1.1 million of you, they are listening!

However, we still don't have clear next steps or a timeline - or if any decisions are coming at all. That’s why we need to continue speaking up until clear protections become law.

Now: the Fireworks season. Many owners feel unprepared. 71% pet owners say they need more support to prepare their animals for fireworks, and only 13% have a detailed plan (Animal Friends Pet Insurance).

So this week, let’s help each other protect our pets! It takes two minutes:

STEP 1:
Share a PHOTO of your pet on social media
with ONE TIP for keeping them calm on Bonfire Night -- make sure you add #PetFireworkTips
so other owners can find your tip!

STEP 2:
Include the petition link so more people join our call for stricter fireworks rules in the UK: https://c.org/bFdBfH7c

For example:
"Here's the photo of my dog Martin, this Thursday I will make sure to walk him earlier in the day and check his pet’s microchip details are up to date #PetFireworkTips  - Sign our petition: https://c.org/bFdBfH7c"

Please share calm, happy photos rather than videos of frightened animals.

Thank you for your support once again -- let’s keep pushing until the changes become law!

Thank you,
Julie
