Offer remote learning in Pennsylvania to protect children from ICE

Offer remote learning in Pennsylvania to protect children from ICE
The Issue
**Urgent Call for Remote Learning in Pennsylvania Until ICE Ceases Operations**
The presence of ICE agents is a threat to the safety of all Americans, as demonstrated in Los Angeles, Chicago, and most recently in Minneapolis. These domestic terrorists have targeted school children, and we have no reason to believe they won't continue to do so.
**A Call to Action: Establish Remote Learning Options**
To protect all children, and especially those from at-risk families, we need to offer remote learning options for all students in Pennsylvania. This solution will allow children to continue their education from the safety of their homes until ICE suspends their activities in the state. Schools must provide this alternative—an opportunity for students to escape fear, stress, and danger. School districts should assist students and their families in situations where parents/caregivers are unable to accommodate remote learning in their home.
**Why Now?**
Given the technological advances in online education, implementing remote learning is a feasible and immediate solution. With platforms available, students can access the same quality education they would receive in physical classrooms. It’s imperative for schools to prioritize their students' safety and mental well-being by offering these remote options.
**Supporting Evidence and Feasibility**
According to reports from reputable educational organizations, remote learning not only maintains but can enhance learning outcomes, especially in distressful situations. Furthermore, similar models have been successfully implemented in other regions facing unrest, showcasing their viability and effectiveness.
Even so, we all have first-hand experience with the challenges that come with remote learning. This is not the ideal situation for our children and families, but we cannot wait for a tragedy to begin implementing precautions.
Please join me in signing this petition to urge the school authorities and legislators to prioritize the safety and education of our children. We owe it to them to create a safe learning environment where they can thrive.
