Today, the Trump administration released their budget for federal spending. There is a lot of commentary about the budget overall. This update is limited only to the impact on computer science education, which is the topic of the Change.org petition you signed last year. We were hopeful President Trump's budget would have included his promise, from the 100-day plan, to “expand vocational and technical education” in K-12 schools. We have been advocating for this promise to be included supporting computer science education. A federal investment to make computer science education curriculum available in every state could unlock a trillion dollars in opportunity for the United States, while also helping to secure our nation from the looming cyber threat (see: http://bit.ly/k12csopportunity). If you agree, join us by contacting your representative in the House and your senator and ask them to support funding computer science education in the federal budget process:www.csecoaltion.org/takeaction
