Dear Congresswoman and Congressman,
As you are aware, recently, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, died after being arrested in Tehran by Iran's notorious "morality police," she was killed as the result of forceful beating on her head. The "morality police" is officially tasked with enforcing the government's moral code including the conservative dress code for women. It is unsupported and despised by the vast majority of Iranian men and women, and in reality, is a toll for the government to terrorize and subjugate the people of Iran. Mahsa was caught by the morality police for showing a small part of her hair which is inevitable as one goes about daily tasks.

Iranian people all over the country once again uprising and protesting against the morality police and the regime itself. Women are burning their hijabs and cutting their hair short in protests over the murder of Mahsa Amini, As a result of country wide protests, the dictatorial regime has cut off access to the Internet, arrested thousands of people and, more importantly, injured and killed hundreds of innocent civilians by shooting them directly in heart or head. This regime is a brutal terrorist dictatorship that has been ruling over civilians through oppression and violence for more than 40 years. There have been many uprising by the civilians in the past. However, every time, they were met with brutal violence, jailing, torture and murder of the protestors.

We are the Iranian American community who deeply appreciate and support our freedom in the United States and are grateful for the peace and security it affords us. We work, study, contribute to, and participate in our community here. However, we are keenly aware that by continuing to oppress and by not being accountable for the welfare of its own people, the Iranian regime directly and indirectly threatens the peace and freedom of America. Consider for example that sanctions will never be effective against a regime that is not accountable to the welfare of its own people. Therefore, it is vital for the United States to support the brave Iranian people who are fighting for their liberty and sovereignty from a dictatorial regime. We request the following:

1- The organization of a constitutional referendum under the supervision of UN

2- Refusing to recognize the Islamic Republic and stopping all negotiations until the referendum result is announced

3- Forming a fact-finding committee in the UN to investigate the recent violence and crimes perpetuated by the Islamic Republic.

4- Deporting or revoking the citizenship of J.A. agents. and their children and grandchildren in America

5- Preventing the withdrawal of money and public property from the country through children's bank accounts

6- Make the access to The Starlink as free Internet portal for Iranians and exempt Starlink from the Sanctions. You have already done the same for the people of Ukraine.

7- We request that the State Department present the Human Rights report on Iran to the senate every six months.

8- Consider Iran's security forces heads, members and their families under the sanction regime, and consider the security forces (Basij, Sepah, Agahi primarily and the Police) as terrorist organizations.

9- Allow bank transactions regarding medical supplies and medicine that are exempted from the sanctions to proceed. Currently Banks do not allow any transactions with Iran and therefore medical needs are not met in a timely manner and at a reasonable price.

Iranian American community of Bay Area
