One of the signatories on this petition, Mr. Vydianathan Ravi, has been successfully able to use an older version of the oBike app on an Android device to get refund credited back to his PayPal account. The workaround was originally posted on Mothership.sg and credit goes to them. According to Mr. Ravi, it took about 10 mins from the point of requesting the refund, and getting the amount credited into his PayPal account.
I think it's worth a try. Also, as a side note, I want to mention that PayPal has a 180-day buyer protection. So if your deposit was made within the last 180 days, you can file a chargeback directly with PayPal too.
Here are the steps to install an older version of the oBike app on an Android device.
1. Uninstall latest version of oBike app
2. Install Aptoide from the link on Mothership.sg page
3. Install oBike app version 3.4.2 as mentioned in the link
4. Disable auto update of oBike app in playstore
5. Open the older version of the app and try to click the three lines at the top left corner before the app update notification pops up (you might have to try this few times - each time closing the app if it doesn't work first time)
6. Login using your credentials
7. Close the app and reopen - try to click the three lines at the top left corner to access your account. You would be able to access the refund deposit option.
Hope this works for you guys.
