Oath Against Modernism in Wyoming

The Issue

The Catholic Church in the 21st Century is plagued by modernism more thoroughly than ever before. It spreads through confusion, ignorance, and apathy. It seeks to infect every cell of the body of Christ through the promulgation of error and heresy. Therefore, every Catholic has a duty to combat Modernism as a member of this body. If you’re reading this right now, you are being called.

Modernism is the synthesis of all heresies. It contains the poison and efficiency of every error. It’s been defined as "liberalism of every degree and shade”, and it seeks to attack sacred tradition and divine revelation by rejecting the deposit of faith. It presents us with the false principle that modern ideologies supersede what the Church has always taught. It leads us to question the past and ultimately condemn it as evil or outdated. It relies on the understanding that newer is better. It throws away the treasures of the Catholic Church, and in their place offers deadly heresy. Like Satan in the Garden of Eden, Modernism is implicit, indirect, and shrouded under the disguise of Catholicism. This is how Modernists attack our sacred tradition more vigorously and effectively than any other enemy the Church has seen. St. Pius X writes that the errors of Modernism shatter the soul. It destroys our sense of Faith and places us in mortal danger.

The time to act is now. Tradition, like Saint Joseph, is the defender and safeguard of divine revelation and the deposit of faith. Through his intercession, we rely on humble obedience to the teachings of the Catholic Church, founded by Christ our Lord, to purge Modernist heresy from this Diocese. God, through Saint Pius X, sent the Modernists into exile, in large part to his Oath Against Modernism, which was to be signed by every Priest in the Catholic world. It’s time to send them running once again.

This is a link to the Oath Against Modernism. It's a short document, only one page. I encourage you to give it a read and sign it yourself.
