Hello Petition Supporters,

My name is Alexandra, and I'm on the Civic Engagement team at Change.org. Our team works to connect petition starters and supporters with the public officials who have the power to act on the issues you care about. 

I reached out to members of the Oakland Unified School District Board regarding this petition. We heard back from Board Director Jennifer Brouhard, who expressed interest in discussing the concerns raised. She requested to meet directly with the petition starter, and I have connected them so that conversation can move forward.

I recognize that this outreach comes after the December 10 meeting, which the petition referenced as a key deadline. Even so, we hope this direct dialogue helps bring some clarity and gives the petition starter an opportunity to share community concerns with a board member in more detail.

I will continue to monitor this issue and will share any updates if additional board members respond or if new information becomes available following their conversation.
