You signed a petition to free Grace, the Oakland County teenager detained after not doing her online homework.

ProPublica, the news organization that wrote about Grace’s case, is now investigating the fines and fees that families must pay when their children are involved in the court system. The fees can include “room and board” while in detention, attorneys’ fees, the cost of a tether and more.
