Kea is on the brink of extinction and 1080 is killing them at an alarming rate. They eat the poison and die, plus they can die from secondary poison from eating from a poisoned carcass. They are also predisposed to sub-lethal poisoning that can significantly affect/impair them and put them at risk for individual survival and reproduction.
