Firstly, thank you for signing this petition. Auckland has rightly done the hard yard for nearly the last three months, and Aucklanders don't deserve to experience more misery with a time slot allocation system proposed by the Government.
As reported by Stuff, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has today not ruled out this idea in her latest interview on The Nation, which is deeply concerning. We've heard stories from elders, families, parents, couples wanting to be reunited for Christmas after this hard year. If you're among them, we are truly sorry if this time slot allocation is to go ahead. Lobby New Zealand is committed to working hard on this on behalf of your support.
In other news, our petition has reached nearly 600 signatures! Our target for this petition is in the thousands. It's important to remember these petitions work in pressuring the Government. They act as clear evidence of what the public want as we advocate for this. So thank you again for the signature, and we would also appreciate if you shared the petition among people you know if you're comfortable so that we will reach more people, collect more signatures, and have a more successful chance of advocating for these Auckland border proposals to be scrapped.
