On January 1, 2014 the Polytechnic Institute became the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. It was promised that with the completion of the merger "[Students] will have access to benefits current NYU students enjoy." More than a year later, it seems that this is yet to be the case. While School of Engineering students can gain access to any NYU facility including residence halls (provided they are in housing), they are yet to be allowed to live on the Manhattan campus.

With the housing reapplication quickly approaching, a newly updated housing website reads: "Students in the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering will only be able to select into halls at the Brooklyn location."

School of Engineering students pay NYU tuition, have NYU ID cards, and live in dorms overseen by NYU Residential Life Staff, so it stands to reason that NYU School of Engineering students should be allowed to live where other NYU students have the option to live.

Sign this petition to let NYU know that Polytechnic School of Engineering students should be given the same opportunities as other NYU students.
