There are strong indications that McGiffert Hall, a striking and historic structure in Morningside Heights, will be redeveloped, possibly as a high-rise structure.

Our neighborhood has lost too many architectural treasures already, as overdevelopment by institutions and private real estate developers continues.

The Morningside Heights Historic District Committee urges the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission to review our recent Request for Evaluation of McGiffert Hall as a NYC Landmark.
