BIG NEWS- NYC Council Introduces Bill 1032- Requiring a NYC Ferry Study for City Island!

Good Afternoon-
Over the past two years, hundreds of you have emailed City Hall to support an NYC Ferry stop on City Island. Additionally, nearly 2,500 Bronxites signed our Change.org petition. We have some good news to report- your voices have been heard! City Council Members Amanda Farias and Shirley Aldebol have introduced a bill in the New York City Council- Intro 1032 which would mandate that the City determine the suitability of a ferry terminal on City Island. If it is determined by the study that City Island is suitable, a dock is mandated to be constructed within a year and Ferry service be extended.
But there's still more to do, a hearing will take place on October 20th and we need to remain loud and consistent in our efforts. Here's where you come in- we need you to speak out again and support our efforts. We've created this simple webform that will allow you to submit testimony easily for the hearing. You can even add your personal experience into the testimony. Here is the form- https://city-island-write-council.netlify.app/
If you would like to be further involved in our efforts, just reply and let us know how you can help. It's going to take a sustained effort to make this meaningful change happen!
Thank you,
City Island Rising
