SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH UPDATE and NEXT STEPS

Thank you all for your tremendous support! At 496 signatures, right now we are so close to reaching our next goal of 500 names. Let’s try to cross this milestone today. Good friends... the support for this issue couldn't have been done without you.

This petition will be emailed to members of the Board of Education, and presented in printed hard copy as well at the September 20th 2021 open BoE meeting.

Please consider taking the following actions:

1.    Attend this upcoming Monday 9/20 meeting at 6:30 pm in a show of support for universal masking in our schools at John Walker Middle School 325 Franklin Ave Nutley. Please observe required masking in the building as well as district safety protocols.

2.    For those who wish to address the Board with their concerns and support for the NJ Mask Mandate, an official Board signup sheet for the public comment period is required.  Plan to arrive early to ensure you are able to sign up.

3.    For those who prefer not to speak during the public comment period, your presence in solidarity will have a great impact in supporting your neighbors who have chosen to speak. This will be greatly appreciated.

4.    Contact each member via email to URGE the Board to act responsibly by providing an unrestricted total PUBLIC COMMENT period -- as was extended to those present during the previous August 28th meeting. All residents in attendance on 9/20 who wish to speak must be permitted this opportunity. Such a forum is imperative to better gauge the plurality of opinion with regard to this very critical matter. (Board contact Info below)

5.    If you are unable to attend the meeting, or prefer not to speak, and/or wish to submit written comments in advance to support of the NJ Mask Mandate that will be included in the official record of the Board meeting, submission guidelines are posted below.

6.    Forward this petition and share these actions  to Nutley family, friends and neighbors who you think might have an interest in signing and participating.
