I'm crying

I am gutted and appalled. I'm sitting this morning crying at my kitchen table reading that another young girl was abused and died in foster care. She was a 14 year old girl with 'high needs', allegedly raped by her carer then died in unknown circumstances. It's reported in the Daily Telegraph today that carers would take 'sleep over shifts' abusing the vulnerable girl. But it gets worse. The police have dropped the charges on the man thought to be responsible despite '100 billion to one' chance he is innocent – with some politicians saying today it was a 'cover up'. It terrifies me because this was almost me. It devastates me because there are more kids suffering this fate right now. I was hit, strangled and locked in sheds. Two toddlers recently died in care, with an inquiry finding even more cases. Our cries for help are being ignored. The Minister Brad Hazzard has been briefed on the abuse – yet nothing is being done to stop more kids being raped and killed in this foster care crisis. I told Brad Hazzard personally that this abuse was happening when I met with him last year. But he ignored me. I'm typing through wet eyeballs. This needs to stop. Demand it stop - that the government create an independent body to fix the foster care system. This can't go on.
