For some twenty years now, I have been traumatised with the irregularities surrounding my son’s death as per Medical Certificate from Dr Minglei Zhang, Bangor Medical Centre dated 25/10/2019 THIS IS TO CETIFY Mrs Lynette Cecil (4/4/1947) will be unfit for jury duty indefinitely because she has been traumatised by dealing with the death of her son over a prolonged period of time. The following will give you an insight to the case:
Cops E24410856 & Glebe Ref. 1263/05
1) For the events of the 3 August 2005 please refer to the TIME FLOW CHART ADAM CECIL – Glebe File No. 1263/05 Deceased 3 August 2005 below.
2) Police immediately presumed that Adam jumped from the roof of 3 Ozone St. Cronulla with the intention of taking his own life.
3) Police were unable to establish how Adam got onto the roof.
4) Suicides - NSW Police Handbook, Updated February 05, Page 147 Do not presume suicide and bear in mind evidence presented to the coroner must be sufficient to conclusively prove it etc.
5) To the best of my knowledge and belief a police officer was not in attendance at the autopsy held on 4 August 2005 at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Glebe
6) With reference to the autopsy photos: Pages 11 & 15 Abrasions to Adam’s face and hands. Photo 1, Page 16 Why were Adam’s hands bagged? Photo 2, Page 17 Clearly shows Adam wearing steel cap work boots and abrasions above the knees, Photos 3,4,5,6,7 Pages 18-22 All show abrasions above the knees.
In my opinion such abrasions cannot be caused by jumping from the roof of 3 Ozone Street, Cronulla with the intention of taking his own life as handed down by Magistrate P. MacMahon
7) Snr Constable Paul Massey consults MCW Lawyers Lawyer notes state:17/10/2005 Lyn Cecil has complained to Ombudsman sent emails to Shane Jessiman’s employers. Snr Constable Massey wanted to know if he could take action against her.
Why would Snr. Constable Paul Massey consult a Lawyer with a view to finding out what action he could take against me (the mother of the deceased) also make false allegations against me that I’d sent emails to Shayne Jessiman’s employers? Emails were sent directly to Shayne Jessiman as per a business card he personally handed to me on the morning of 25 December 2004 whilst attending my Bangor home shayne@conditionaire.com.au
8) Minister for Police letter from Tony Stewart MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Police to AP Megarrity MP Ref: RML 67287 and I quote the following extract:- Detective Sergeant Donna O’Mally of Miranda Local Area Commend has advised me that, following a complaint made by Ms Cecil to the NSW Ombudsman about the initial investigation into her son’s death by Senior Constable Massey, which suggested the matter was a suicide, Deputy State Coroner Jacki Milledge forwarded a letter to the Ombudsman in support of the police investigation. The Ombudsman subsequently declined Ms Cecil’s complaint.
9) Snr Constable Massey phone call to Lyn Cecil17/10/2005 09:20 Received a phone call from Snr Constable Massey advising me that my Statutory Declaration dated 27/8/2005 sent directly to the Coroner’s Court was useless as it only outlined my family history. I had previously declined to attend the Police Station to give a Statement as I felt it was too confronting and subsequently advised Snr Constable Massey that I would complete a Statutory Declaration and forward same directly to the Coroner.
10) On 4 October 2012 Judge J. Hidden of the Supreme Court handed down his decision Findings of Coroner quashed, new Inquest ordered.
11) Deputy State Coroner HCB Dillon’s findings handed down on 29 August 2013, I find that Adam Cecil died on 3 August 2005 at the Sutherland Hospital, Miranda as a result of multiple injuries suffered due to a fall from height. I am unable to determine how that fall came about.
Having inspected the crime site prior to the second Coronial Inquest on 26 and 29 July 2013 Deputy State Coroner HCB Dillon was aware of the fact there was nowhere Adam could have fallen from.
Adam did not jump from the roof of 3 Ozone Street, Cronulla and nor did he fall from a height unknown
12) On 3August 2005 Stuart Paterson, resident of 8/3 Ozone Street, Cronulla witnessed Adam drinking with a mate in his garage around 7.00pm. During the first Coronial Inquest held under the carriage of Magistrate P. MacMahon on 10-14 September 2007 and 20-22 November 2007 Stuart Paterson recognised the male in question and reported this to Magistrate P. MacMahon. The male identified was Matthew Newson at which point Magistrate MacMahon simply suppressed his name never to be mentioned again.
13) It’s interesting to note that in the Statement of a Witness Dr Suzan Wong 03 January 2006, Extract Page 1 Point 5 I also walked past a male who I think was coming down the stairs. This male had blonde hair and skinny to average build. He looked to be in his 20’s and was wearing a white T shirt. As I walked past him I said “Hi” he nodded to me in reply.
This description fits that of MATTHEW NEWSON of whom was a long-term friend of Adams.
14) Unidentified DNA remains on the work jacket Adam was wearing on the night he died.
15) Unidentified fingerprints remain on the note “Will” that was found by police in Adam’s unit at approximately 23:00 hours on the night he died.
16) Following the conclusion of the second Coronial Inquest held under the carriage of former Deputy State Coroner Hugh Dillon handing down his findings on 29 August 2013, I was to receive a phone call from Glenn Miller QC for me to collect all relevant documentation from his Chambers, this included the Brief of Evidence, exhibits and a bundle of miscellaneous papers.
17) Several months later, whilst browsing through the miscellaneous bundle of papers that included a hard copy of the Autopsy Photos and a copy of an email sent from Andrew Davis Barrister to Glen Miller QC dated 25 June 2013 stated This agenda is not for distribution to Ms Cecil. This deceit indicated that I had been betrayed by my legal representatives and so my plight for justice for Adam began in earnest.
18) Finally a breakthrough when I received advice from Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty APM, Commander Homicide Squad advising me that Adam Cecil’s case remains under the jurisdiction of the Sutherland Local Area Command. On 2 January 2024 I posted a binder which contained a letter to Superintendent Craig Middleton and documentation GLEN MILLER QC & ANDREW DAVIS, BARRISTER GLEBE REF: 1263/05 JUDICIAL IRREGULARITIES, BREACHES OF TRUST with Index and summary of breaches of trust along with supporting documentation.
19) The package was returned to me in its original state unopened, unread and no sender identification. Over an extended period I’ve requested to meet with Superintendent Craig Middleton with a view to discussing serious anomalies surrounding Adam’s case. Superintendent Middleton has declined my request on each occasion. Such actions are a gross miscarriage of justice.
20) Having lodged a complaint with the NSW Commissioner for Police Karen Webb, with reference to Superintendent Middleton, I then received a reply on 11 June 2024 advising me that my correspondence had been forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Central Metropolitan Region for consideration.
21) On 21 October, 2024 I received a phone call from Inspector Tracy Nelson, Professional Standards Manager advising me that no action will be taken against Superintendent Craig Middleton.
22) On 22 October, 2024 I received an email from Inspector Tracy Nelson as follows: Thank you for your time on the phone yesterday. I have spoken to the Crime Manager at Sutherland this morning and asked him to contact you in relation to your concerns. He stated that he will reach out to you, His name is Detective Inspector Tim Carter. It’s interesting to note that I’m still waiting for the call.

Approx. 17.00 I arrived home from work. Adam’s Rodeo Reg. AC9877 was parked on the fire trail. Adam, Mark and Shayne Jessiman were having a beer using Adam’s ute tray as a convenient table. I walked over and said “Good day” before spending a few minutes in my home, getting myself a light beer from the kitchen fridge and returning downstairs for a chat. I then proceeded to the Bangor Shopping Centre.

Approx. 17.45 On returning to my home from the Bangor Shopping Centre, I turned left into Yala Road and left again into Bangaroo Street. Adam was stationary in his vehicle waiting to turn right into Yala Road, I recognised Shayne Jessiman as the person driving the vehicle directly behind Adam.
Approx. 18.00 Shayne Jessiman claims he arrived home at 8/489 King Street, Newtown probably a bit after 6.00. He also claims that he was following Adam and witnessed him on his mobile phone. The only call recorded on Adam’s mobile account 0418 619 478 is 17.39 as itemised above.
If Shayne Jessiman was following Adam in his vehicle and witnessed Adam on his mobile phone then he was within the Bangor vicinity, possibly at the corner of Yala and Bangaroo Streets, Bangor.
19.00 to 19.30 Stuart Patterson and Scott Emerson witnessed Adam drinking with a mate in his garage.
