We're making progress!

Over the last few months together we have generated lots of much needed attention to the fact that there is a strong demand for a MTB trail in the Eastern Suburbs. Without you guys it wouldn't have been able to happen, so thank you!! Since I last wrote to you, both the local federal and state members of parliament, have been made aware of our movement for a trail and now understand that mountain biking trails are very hard to access from the Eastern Suburbs and that it is essential to have one in the area. I have also received responses to the campaign from both the Minister for Sport and the Minister for Environment. The Minister for Environment, Mark Speakman, wrote in his letter that he understands that there is "local demand for mountain biking in the Eastern Suburbs", so with your continued support we will be able to show him that the needs of this demand should be made a priority on the National Parks agenda. Finally, some of you may have seen the article in the Beast Magazine May edition about our movement and I would like to thank the team at Beast for the support. All these leaps forward are great for our campaign, but moving forward, there are many more opportunities to help make a trail in the East a reality. There is a consultation session with National Parks about the future of the Headland on the Maroubra Beach Promenade on this Saturday (9th July) opposite McKeon Street from 9-11am. If you can make it to express your views, that would be great!! Here are 3 things you can do that will help: 1. Share this petition on social media and other platforms to help us gain over 1000 signatures before the consultation this Saturday. 2. Drop in to the community consultation with National parks this Saturday the 9th July at Maroubra Beach to voice your opinion. 3. Write to Environment Minister Mark Speakman (office@speakman.minister.nsw.gov.au) voicing your support for a trail in the Eastern Suburbs. Thanks, Matt
