NSW Attorney General: revoke bail for the man alleged to have stabbed our friend to death – enforce your 'tougher' bail laws

The issue

My friend Greg Gibbins was brutally stabbed to death one evening, and another was severely injured. Now despite supposed 'tighter bail laws' – the man accused of murdering him has been given bail.

It's absolutely disgusting that our legal system would let this man walk the streets. What's more – the man accused of stabbing Greg to death will now go back to working with knives at a TAFE chef's course.

Greg was a talented, caring and generous man whose life was taken for no reason. His death has devastated family, friends and our community, and justice hasn't been served.

Bail laws are meant to be in place to prevent alleged violent offenders walking the streets until the justice system has ruled finally on the matter. I've heard there's a loophole in the 'bail law reforms' introduced, where juvenile convictions aren't being considered in bail decisions. This must change.

Our community held a rally this week to show our disgust. Please support us in asking NSW Attorney General Gabrielle Upton for justice for Greg, and the safety of our community.

Please sign my petition demanding the bail of Greg's alleged murderer is revoked immediately – and juvenile convictions are considered when bail is granted.
