Hamilton Town Center in the Marin IJ

This Marin IJ article came out six days after I was interviewed and by then the Closed Session of the Council had been pulled from the agenda and the March 20 community meeting was in process. However, the facts remain: 1. A closed session meeting was scheduled and the Council could have voted to enter into an exclusive negotiation with a developer. 2. The Council has not yet voted on an Request for Proposals (RFP) process for any of the properties. That would allow for a competitive bidding process. 3. The Council could vote NOT to sell the Town Center parcel and keep it for community use. 4. The potential Town Center developer, Avesta, is also the Hamilton Hospital developer and has not yet funded the $2 million dollar escrow for the hospital purchase that was made September 2014. This may be part of the terms of the agreement. I hope to keep seeing more signers of the petition so that I can keep you updated on this potential project.
