Important Meeting: March 20, 7-9 p.m. at Hamilton Community Center

6 Mar 2017
The city of Novato has scheduled the community meeting on the vacant parcels at Hamilton that we have been waiting for since March 2016. Below is the message from the City of Novato that is being distributed on all social media. A link to the city's website provides background on the initial Federal Lands to Park transfer that removed the park designation on the Hamilton Town Center. PLEASE mark your calendar and attend and ask your questions and provide your input. ***************************************************************************** Dear Neighbors, Please join us for a community discussion regarding possibilities for redeveloping and revitalizing the City-owned “Lands-to-Parks” properties in Hamilton, including: - Town Center Site (APN 157-690-47) - Bachelor’s Officers Quarters (BOQ) Site (APN 157-690-53) - Commissary Site (APN 157-970-03) WHEN: Monday, March 20; 7-9pm WHERE: Hamilton Community Center, 503 S Palm Drive, Novato Director of Hamilton Base Reuse Scott Ward and City Manager Regan Candelario will discuss the opportunities and challenges for each site, answer questions, and get feedback on next steps. Late last year, the City negotiated with the National Parks System, that lifted deed restrictions from these properties in exchange for 93 acres of open space. By lifting those restrictions, these properties can now be improved. Note that the City Council will also discuss this topic at their regularly-scheduled meeting on March 28. If you cannot make this meeting, but are interested in providing your feedback, please e-mail us at publicinfo@novato.org.
