June Update, Pictou County Gas Plants

Hello everyone, thankyou once again for signing the petition. Much has happened in the past few weeks. 

The group LEAP (Living Ecosystems And Power) is now very well organized, busy and pushing hard to stop the gas plants from being built and run in watersheds and rural areas. I would encourage  you to visit www.leappictou.org for continued updates and to now subscribe to a new newsletter that goes out weekly. This way you can stay informed through email. 

One major update we should share is the concern Stellarton Town Council has over their water supply which comes out of the East River Watershed. With 9 million liters of diesel proposed to be onsite in Marshdale and the possibility of pollution getting into the watershed and the town supply, this would worry anyone who relies on this catchment area for water. One toxic leak or spill would be catastrophic.
