GAS PLANTS GIVEN GREEN LIGHT By Federal Government, now what?

Hello everyone,

An update on endangered species day in Canada.

Today the federal government announced they will give the green light to the two methane peaker plants proposed for Pictou County in the headwaters of the East and West Rivers despite many of us calling for caution.  This is not what we wanted to hear.  Where to now?

8 brave residents of Pictou County are taking the provincial government to the Supreme Court to challenge the environmental assessment for both plants.  This is going to cost in excess of $20,000. These folks now have the services of a fine environmental lawyer in Halifax who has worked on other environmentally damaging cases here in Pictou County. A gofundme account has been set up, see the link below. Please consider donating.
