Robert Robinson started this petition to Nottinghamshire County Council and

The RSPB and Nottinghamshire County Council are joint operators of Sherwood Forest. In recent times, nudists have started walking around here, sometimes in groups of up to 12 men. My wife used to regularly jog around the forest, but stopped when she came across this group of men. The reason this needs to be discouraged, is on the afternoon of the 15th July, my wife, now on a bike, was cycling through Budby Moor when she was confronted by a naked man in the bushes who was 'self gratifying' himself as she went by. Thankfully she was on the central road, he was 20 metres away and they were separated by a fence. Every day, in good weather, nudists can be seen. The Police state it is an offence if we find it offensive, which we do. There is a nudists retreat nearby that they can use, away from the public. Instead of discouraging this minority, the RSPB have stated in national newspapers and in signs at the forest, that the nudists are welcome so long as they wear clothes when leaving and returning to their cars. They also say that they are walking away from the main areas of the forest, which is false. We have seen them at Centre tree, on the old Red Walk and now they have started parking at the busy, and small Budby car park.

There is no need to walk about naked. Clothes do not stop you enjoying the forest.
