Notify INSPIRE-SHE Scholarship 2024-25 Batch Immediately
The Issue
We are thousands of meritorious science students from across India, and we are standing together to raise one simple demand: notify the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship for the 2024-25 batch, without further delay.
For over a decade, the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship, administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has been a symbol of hope for meritorious Class 12th students, giving them the confidence and support to pursue higher education in Basic and Natural Sciences. It has shaped careers, funded dreams, and encouraged thousands of young minds to choose science as their path.
This year, that hope has been met with silence. Till date, no official notification has been issued for the 2024-25 batch, even though the application cycle has historically opened between September and October every year. No explanation, no timeline, no clarity — just uncertainty for thousands of students who worked hard to earn this recognition.
We are not asking for a favor. We are asking for what has been promised to meritorious students for over ten years. Every day of delay is a day of anxiety for students who have built their academic plans around this scholarship, trusting the system to honor merit as it always has.
This is not the story of one student. It is the story of every young scientist across this country who believed that hard work would be rewarded — and is now waiting for an answer.
We appeal to the Department of Science and Technology and the Government of India to:
1. Immediately notify and disburse the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship for the 2024-25 batch without further delay
2. Provide official clarity on the status of INSPIRE-SHE under the new "Vigyan Dhara" scheme, and confirm whether meritorious undergraduate science students will continue to receive support going forward
3. Announce a fixed, transparent annual timeline for the scholarship, so that students are not left in uncertainty year after year
4. Set up a proper communication channel or helpline where affected students can get direct updates on their scholarship status
5. Ensure that no meritorious student is denied an opportunity they have rightfully earned due to administrative delays or lack of clarity
If you believe merit deserves to be recognized, please sign and share this petition. Together, our voice is louder — and it is time we are heard.
