Location:Edinburgh,Durar Drive

Since July 2023. one man has been using a grassy verge to fix and store multiple vehicles(7 in total at the moment) including a camper van.He doesn’t seem to care about the nuisance that he’s causing in terms of :

1)noise

2)pollution 

3)damaging the grass and the trees planted 

4)being double parked and causing difficulties to exit/enter the parking lot(there was a case where ambulance didn’t have enough space to park)

5)being inconsiderate of the residents/visitors and taking up permanently two parking spaces 

6)treating public space as his private garage/front yard

7)using an extension cord to power his tools and supply electricity to his camper van in a unsafe way

8)having his dog fouling and never cleaning up after

9)blocking the street lights with his two permanently parked vans and therefore making the parking lot darker and dangerous(it’s harder for drivers to see the pedestrians and harder to maneuver their vehicles around other parked ones)

10)and as a conclusion,having his tools,spare parts and van tires lay around the grass and residential parking lot is unsightly and rude

Multiple institutions were contacted,including the city of Edinburgh council and their online services,licensing and planning,DVLA,fix my street,and local MP.It’s the Northwest’s locality job to remove the vehicles as they are parked there illegally and the area isn’t used as per plans made by the city of Edinburgh council.

So I need your assistance,dear neighbors or just residents of this area,city or people who think that this is not fair.Help me protect our community and neighborhood as a place for us all to use with respect,to be considerate of others and to not damage the little nature that surrounds us.Parking is a big problem in the city of Edinburgh,and with pavement parking being banned as of January this year,we shouldn’t have a person do this.Thank you to all the people who signed and supported this matter.
