Thanks to your help, the Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act was introduced in the House of Representatives a few weeks ago. Recently, a companion bill was also introduced in the Senate, giving us two chances to pass this important legislation.

Aside from slowing slaughter speeds, the Senate bill also directs the Government Accountability Office to conduct a review of how well the USDA protected animals and workers during COVID-19. That review has the potential to facilitate lasting systemic change in the meat industry.
