The Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act is gaining support, but it needs your help to pass. Contact your representatives and encourage them to co-sponsor this important bill.

U.S. Representatives Marcia Fudge, Rosa DeLauro, and Bennie Thompson have introduced a bill called the Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act that aims to protect animals, workers, and public health from the dangers of high-speed slaughter.

Standard line speeds are already dangerously fast, resulting in injuries to both animals and workers. High-speed slaughter, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, makes things even more deadly. More than 32,000 workers have tested positive for COVID-19, and over 120 workers and 4 inspectors have died as a result. That doesn't even touch on the horrors animals endure due to these high speeds.

The Safe Line Speeds in COVID-19 Act gives us an opportunity to end these brutal practices and slow the spread of this global pandemic. Contact your representatives today and tell them to co-sponsor this bill to help protect animals, workers, and public health.
