On May 2nd, 2018, House Republicans nominated Donald Trump, the President of the United States for a Nobel Peace Prize for his “role” in the establishment of peace between North and South Korea.

While this might look like a feat worthy of such a esteemed prize, there are many reasons why this is a disgrace of a nomination.

Donald Trump is a hate monger, a bully, and has done more to destabilize world peace and divide his own country then he has to establish peace in any country in the world. 

He insults world leaders, uses racist dialogue, frequently lies, breaks deals and agreements, makes fun of the disabled, creates and supports discriminatory policies for LGBT people, and frequently states that violence is ok. 

Any one action of peace does not nullify the extreme vitriol of hate, violence, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, and bigotry that this “leader” spreads on a daily basis.

Donald Trump does not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. To give him one is to condone his behavior. Thank you.
