Yesterday the leader of the North Lincolnshire Council conceded he was wrong to ignore the chaos at the Berkeley Circle roundabout, and he has made a complete U-turn by ordering a major review to take place immediately. This turnaround has been achieved by the pressure we have put on him with our petition. In March this year he declared in a full council meeting that he had no intention of making any changes and so to get him to commit to a major review is a fantastic victory. Of course we all know words are very cheap, but rest assured I will be keeping the pressure on him to actually deliver real changes at the roundabout. Just a final update and a word of advice for anyone thinking of starting a petition to the North Lincolnshire Council, they have changed the rules and you will no longer be able to use this website to gather your signatures. I attended the full council meeting yesterday and Rob Waltham went ahead with his motion to change the councils constitution on petitions, and every Conservative councillor voted in favour of this change, so now instead of needing 1,500 signatures to get a full debate in council you will need 6,400. Anyone signing your petition will need to be on the electoral register in North Lincolnshire, they will have to give their full name, full address, shoe size, height, weight, and the colour of the knickers they are wearing at the time of signing.
