Support the Passing of the Crown Act In North Carolina

Support the Passing of the Crown Act In North Carolina
The Issue
The Crown Act is a law that can be passed so natural hair textures and styles can not be discriminated in the workforce or public schools.
Imagine sitting in a waiting room for an interview. On the right side of you is a white male, aged 21 with no experience just a dad with connections.
On the left side is a white female , 24 who just got her bachelor degree.
There's you, a 30 year old Black person with a bachelor's and master's degree.
You are asked if you intend to wear your natural hair like that while working. You are in essence being asked to alter your hair texture tohave your appearance be considered acceptable.
Imagine yourself walking into work wearing your cultural hairstyle and everyone is looking at you and whispering.
Then you are called by your boss into his/her office. You are asked to leave and come back tomorrow presentable or don't come back tomorrow.
Imagine being excited to go to school today because you finally decided to embrace your natural hair. You're sitting in the classroom and the teacher looks at you and tells you to go to the principal's office. Then they start checking your head for weapons.
"Black women are 1.5 times more likely to be sent home from the workplace because of their hair" - Crown Act
I have to change my hair from its natural state to fit in at the office.
Black women are 80% more likely than white women to agree with this statement. - Crown Act
People should not have to change who they are to be able to work or even go to school.
7 states have already passed the Crown Act in the United States New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Virginia, Washington, Maryland, and California.
Sign this petition to push North Carolina Legislative to pass the Crown Act. This will make it illegal to discriminate based on hair textures and styles in workplaces and education settings.
