This is a petition to support expedited, special consideration of NATO membership for Ukraine. The country of Ukraine has for many years expressed aspirations and made reforms consistent with what is necessary to join the alliance. As a member of the European community that is under attack, Ukraine’s defense of their sovereign territory is also a defense of Europe as a whole.

NATO membership would allow and force existing members to provide direct military support to Ukraine and halt the Russian invasion. This is a moment to which the European community must fully rise and offer their full support to the men, women and children in Ukraine.

There can be no real peace while one person is dying some place in the world for the rest of us.
