We're rallying behind a titan of the pinball community, David Barber, to be recognized on Queer Eye’s Washington, DC season. David, towering at 6’9”, is more than just a giant in stature; he's a pillar of benevolence within our community. His diligent work as a pinball operator keeps our beloved machines running, creating an environment where people can gather, compete, and bond over a mutual love for pinball.

David's presence at Lyman's Tavern has been transformative—his handiwork and commitment helped shape the establishment into a welcoming, inclusive pinball hub. In an industry predominantly dominated by white men, his work is a beacon of hope for people of diverse backgrounds. It's not only about maintaining pinball machines but about fostering a safe space for people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community – a rare find in today’s tumultuous social climate.

Beyond his contributions to Lyman’s, David has personally supported countless individuals within the community. His efforts are invaluable, and we strongly believe that it's time he received some well-deserved recognition. Recently, one of his dogs became seriously ill, leading to over $15,000 in unforeseen medical expenses. Like many Americans, David faced an impossible decision—save his beloved pet or face financial strain. He chose love, and while the DC pinball community came together through a GoFundMe to help, he’s still feeling the weight of that choice. I believe he deserves a second chance—a fresh start, an Extra Ball in the pinball world. He deserves a clean slate to rebuild, free from the burden of debt, so he can continue doing his best: maintaining machines, working on his streams, and making the world a little more fun.
