Drop Proctorio from MATH2306: Support Math Students!

The issue

Proctorio is an unacceptable method of assessment for exams in any course, and it's unbelievable that MATH2306 and other maths sciences courses are pushing ahead with it.

In the first instance, it's extraordinarily invasive: Proctorio has access to no less than your microphone, webcam, physical location, identity, clipboard, mouse location, browser size, browser tabs, head movements, mouth movements, entire screen, any website we visit, any other applications running, number of screens connected, as well as the frankly ridiculous room scan.

It also wildly disadvantages students that don't have access to stable internet access, and an empty, quiet room for 3 hours. This includes students in sharehouses, students with familes including students with children, low SES students and other students without access to reliable internet or hardware, students overseas with slow internet connections to Australia -- the list goes on.

Many other courses at ANU, including STEM and maths courses, aren't using Proctorio. It's absolutely possible to run a course without Proctorio -- so why should MATH2306 students accept being spied on for a grade, especially when it's a terrible fit for a maths course in the first place?

Students have reported to No Proctorio that they tried to bring their concerns to the lecturer, but their Wattle forum posts were deleted, and the entire forum deleted shortly after. The students say their concerns have not been responded to, and despite a class petition which 32% of class signed in under a day, the plans to use Proctorio for Math2306 remain in place.

Maths sciences' priority in this instance is clearly not to further the education of maths students. Introduction of software like Proctorio is clearly designed to keep students palatable to employers, not keep us engaged in our education.

We, the undersigned students of MATH2306, and supporters of MATH2306 students, want Proctorio out of our course. Many of us in the course plan to defer our exams until they can be taken without Proctorio, and won't accept anything short of that.
