M.C.G.M. is Constructing 7500 Nos. of PAP Tenements (Project Affected Persons) near Maratha Mandal, Mulund East and the work is going on in full swing.

In addition to this, 

Government is planning to rehab 3-4 lakhs Dharavikars in Mulund at Octroi Naka!

Mulund East has an approximate population of 1,35,000 with a population density of 8225 people per km². It is already a densely populated area. The FSI of 5.4 is bound to create an unbearable strain on the infrastructure, thus degrades the living standards and quality of life of the local residents.

M.C.G.M. did not consider the pressure on existing infrastructure affecting the quality of life of people in vicinity, impact on the existing social infrastructure like educational institutions, open spaces, hospitals, etc, physical infrastructure like water supply, drainage which is already overburdened.

M...G.M. has to take objections and suggestions of the local citizens before sanctioning this kind of project. In this case the planning authority has sanctioned this project without obtaining the objections-suggestions.

Mulund East has only one entry point from Eastern Express Highway and road connected is narrow. The major problem of Mulund East is heavy traffic. This is bound to result a chocked traffic after completion of the project.

We have initiated a legal battel against this project by filing a Public Interest Litigation before the Hon'ble Bombay High Court against this project.
