UPDATE: This Petition Must Be Signed More Than Ever
This petition now matters more than ever.
We were told this visit would be “privately funded.”
We now know Australian taxpayers will be covering police and public safety operations.
Australians have every right to question this!
At the same time, claims of “security concerns” are being raised, including suggestions that people attending or taking photos at a publicly advertised, ticketed event somehow constitute a risk.
Let’s be clear.
Taking photos at an event is not a security threat. It is normal behaviour.
Yet this narrative is being used to justify taxpayer-funded police operations for what is clearly a private, commercial visit.
This raises serious and legitimate questions:
- Why are Australians being told one thing while public resources are being used in another way?
- Why are “security concerns” being framed in a way that appears disproportionate to the situation?
- Why should taxpayers carry any cost for a privately marketed, high-priced event?
This is not about personalities.
This is about accountability, transparency, and the fair use of public resources.
Australians are already under financial pressure.
They should not be expected to subsidise private ventures.
This is the moment to act.
If you have been following this issue, if you have questioned it, or if you believe public money should be protected, now is the time to stand behind that.
