UPDATE: Formal Request Sent to Government – Awaiting Response
Today, I have formally written to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, New South Wales Premier Chris Minns and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, seeking clear confirmation that no taxpayer funding or official support will be provided for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s private visit to Australia in April 2026.
This is not a minor issue.
I have now been contacted by multiple media outlets across Australia and internationally, reflecting the growing level of public concern and interest surrounding this visit.
As outlined in this petition, the visit includes ticketed commercial events, media engagements and private business activities. These must be treated strictly as a private matter.
At a time when Australians are facing rising mortgage stress, increasing energy and petrol prices, and ongoing cost of living pressures, public resources must be applied fairly and without preferential treatment.
I have requested written confirmation that:
- No taxpayer funds will be used
- No government resources will be deployed
- No official support or facilitation will be provided
We are now awaiting a response.
