Greetings from Ottawa! Today Irene Mathyssen tabled 10,082 signatures in the House of Commons. Myself and Kathleen Fraser had the honour of speaking at the monument dedicated to the Famous Five—women who stood up to be heard in our Parliament. It’s time for our government to hear our call to remove the GST on menstruation products. Make sure to watch the news today — hopefully our campaign story leaks. We urged our parliamentarians to give Bill C-282 its due consideration and to stop taxing our periods! Thank you for your incredible support for our campaign. Together we can remove this stain on our legislation. Here is how you can help: Tweet about it! Tell @PMHarper, @KellieLeitch, @KerryLynneFindl, @MinJoeOliver, @ThomasMulcair, @JustinTrudeau, and @ElizabethMay that you want #NoTaxOnTampons. Call your MP and remind them that almost 75,000 Canadians want to see the tax on menstruation products removed. You can find their contact information here: http://www.parl.gc.ca/ParlInfo/compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC Tell the government we are essential. Thank you, Jill Piebiak
