No SSEN Pylons At Mosside Drumoak

No SSEN Pylons At Mosside Drumoak
The Issue
Our peaceful and scenic community of Mosside and Drum, in Drumoak Kincardineshire Aberdeenshire is under threat. The proposed construction of super pylons by SSEN threatens not only our livelihood but also the tranquillity and beauty that defines our home. As owners of a local tourist and glamping business, we stand to lose everything we have worked hard to build. In addition walkers and tourist to the immediate area have immediate access to the river Dee for fishing, the Deeside way for horse riding dog walking and cycling plus nearby Drum Castle, SSPCA, and mains of drum restaurant garden centre.
The construction project will not just affect us but will also have a significant negative impact on the surrounding environment. The towering structures would be an eyesore, disrupting the natural landscape that attracts tourists from far and wide. Moreover, such infrastructures often pose risks to local wildlife including many deer, and a wealth of bird variety due to habitat disruption.
In addition to environmental concerns, there are potential health implications associated with living close to high voltage power lines which need further investigation (source: World Health Organization). We believe it is crucial for these factors to be considered before any construction begins or indeed any planning decisions.
We urge you all - residents of Mosside and Drum, tourists and beyond - let's unite against this impending disruption. Let's protect our homes, businesses, environment and health from potential harm. Sign this petition today; together we can halt the construction of super pylons in Mosside Drum! Below is a photo across the Deeside Way from Mosside to Park Bridge.
