Hello,
I wanted to say thank you to all the people who signed. The Albuquerque City Council vote last night, 9.7.22, only had 5 votes instead of the 6, needed to quash the Mayor Keller's veto. Trudy Jones, of district 8, crumbled on her vote. She lives far from the city, up in the foothills, in a posh area of mansions, that never see any homeless tents, or people laid out on the street. The rest of the city is out of sight, out of mind. There is nothing wrong with living in a affluent area, but when you ignore the safety, and voice of thousands of constituents because you do not care, its time to leave the Albuquerque City Council. West Mesa residents and other residents throughout the city have to appeal, and our City Councilor, Louie Sanchez, is leading us what steps to take next.
Keep the signatures coming - in the appeal process, I will submit these signatures again.
Again, Thank You - I will be taking a much needed rest after these last 3 weeks of calls, and connecting with people, etc....
Sincerely,
Julia P.S. Join my newsletter that came as a result of this petition, I will keep updating on what is happening here in the City of Albuquerque.
