With no policy ideas, the priority legislation for the McGowan Government today is to try to delete the Roe 8 road reserve. Despite having no plan to deal with the serious congestion and safety issues on local roads, Labor is pursuing its reckless plan to stop Roe 8 forever. Mark McGowan has made some dreadful decisions since becoming Premier in March 2017, but this is easily the worst. Roe 8 would have taken 74,000 cars and 7,000 trucks off local roads – instead, we are getting a policy vacuum and a disaster. It’s extremely irresponsible to be attempting to delete Roe 8 with no credible alternative plan. There are serious doubts surrounding the outer harbour and it does nothing to deal with the cars and trucks on local roads. I am fighting to stop this in Parliament and I encourage you to join me.
