The article says it all about how lobbyists and their contrived activist through groups like Rethink the Link and the Wetlands groups can disrupt common sense infrastructure against the the advice from experts like planners and civil engineers. Here we have Mayors and Union ministers rewriting major infrastructure planning on the back of a napkin. The Labor Mayors of Fremantle and Cockburn have sold out their constituents and ratepayers, all for their own political gain. Mark my words Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt after jumping from the Greens camp will be rewarded for services rendered with a Labor party advisory or ministerial position in the not too distant future! No doubt Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett will be afforded the same privileges. Many all on the front bench of the WA Govt and members of the activists groups have already been rewarded with their lucrative tax payer funded gigs. The Mayor of Melville Russell Aubrey and his supportive councillors were the only ones with the courage to stand up to these bullies and try to expose their lies. This time round in the October council elections make sure you do your research and vote for councillors that are in support of their constituents. It is essential you take the time to vote in these non compulsory local elections. Otherwise you get what you get and you can't get upset! Like the situation we have now with the State Govt.
